Walking the Talk: Christian Universalism and Interfaith Reconciliation

The Victory of the Gospel
Rhett Ellis, Vice Chair of the CUA, speaks at the Christian Universalist Celebration 2008, June 14 in Oklahoma City. He shares a personal and inspiring message about the meaning of the Gospel as "Good News" -- news of the ultimate triumph of what is good. He discusses the power of this news of the all-inclusive love and total victory of God in Christ to redeem all creation, transform people's lives and change the world.
The Second Reformation: Reclaiming the Universalist Spirit of Christianity
Rev. Eric Stetson, the founding Executive Director of the CUA, speaks at Celebration 2008. He describes the central teachings of the original Christian Gospel -- a universalist understanding of God, human nature, and the destiny of all souls -- and explains how Christianity has been changed to teach the exact opposite on every issue. He calls Christians today to reject the false gospel of eternal damnation and return to the true Good News of universal salvation.
Rescue or Flush?
Rev. Kalen Fristad, the founding Chair of the CUA and founder of Destined For Salvation Ministries, delivers a message at Hallie United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, June 5, 2006. He asks whether God would flush human beings down the drain of hell like a bug down the toilet, or whether God is more compassionate than that. Sharing favorite parables of Jesus such as the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Prodigal Son, Rev. Fristad argues for a Universalist view of salvation. He quotes from the writings of Peter and other Biblical texts to prove that God plans to rescue all souls from hell, rather than letting them be lost forever.
Destined For Salvation
Rev. Kalen Fristad is interviewed on June 5, 2006 about his belief in universal salvation, as presented in his book Destined For Salvation. Rev. Fristad shares Biblical and philosophical arguments for the idea that all souls will eventually be saved and that hell is temporary and reformative, not eternal. He discusses the rise of Universalism among various types of Christians today, and encourages people to embrace this hopeful message which has the power to transform the world.
Universal Reconciliation: Taking It to the Next Level
Rev. Eric Stetson speaks at the Restoration Nation Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, June 16, 2007. He challenges people in the Christian Universalist movement to take it to the next level by challenging themselves to live up to the label of "universal reconciliation" that they frequently apply to their beliefs -- by being willing to reconcile with all types of Christians from diverse denominational backgrounds, in a great ecumenical movement to transform Christianity by spreading the original Gospel of God's unconditional love.
